Since 1975, Koester Metals, Inc has offered high quality precision sheet metal fabrications and enclosures. Over the years, KMI has fine-tuned the design and manufcaturing process in order to produce repeatable quality products, on time, exactly as promised. KMI offers solutions for the power generation industry including indoor and outdoor, portable, industrial, stationary, standby, and emergency power generator enclosures.
Many Options for OEMs:
KMI-built metal enclosures can be based on a high volume production agreement or a single custom unit. Addtional options include material type and finish, sound attenuation, Nema rating, and obviously overall design and construction details.
For example, Customer A is a major portable generator OEM. The KMI provided solutions for this customer include high volume parts production, Kan Ban integration, design assistance, and value added assembly services. See some example KMI-fabricated include: panels, frames, bases, trailers, and canopies. On the other hand, Customer B is a manufacturer of emergency power generator systems for institutions. The KMI provided solution for this customer is a large metal housing. KMI can manfucture everything from a small panel to a large walk-in style control house. KMI also provide modified and custom ISO-style containers that can be configured to accept switchgear, motors, and gen sets. Another option is a canopy-style drop-over generator enclosure.
Other options available include insulation and finishes suitable for harsh environments.KMI has solutions for salt spray location and a petrochemical environments. Insulation can be applied as a thermal barrier and/or sound attenuation.
